Author of the Month

Meet Lois Lowry, our November Author of the Month! By clicking on Mrs. Lowry's picture, you will be linked to her home webpage. Take some time to read the titles and descriptions of her books (by clicking on the individual titles you will be connected to the summary). Are there any titles that interest you? If yes, blog about it! What book and why? Then remember to add the title(s) to your Books I Want to Read list in your LA/SS binder.

I haven't read a lot of Lois Lowery's books, but the one I read, Number the Stars, was pretty good.

I thought that The Giver, Gathering Blue, and Messenger looked like a great triology. I thought it looked really good because, it was fantasy and it sort of sounded like a Lord Of The Rings book, which I really like. I also liked Gossamer's description because it sounded like a book about fantasy creatures.

Well I have a read a lot of books by Mrs. Lowry and they're very interesting books. The books I have read are: Messenger, The Giver, Gathering Blue, and Gossamer. She has an exciting and mysterious imagination, and I love her books. I would really love to read some of her other books like: A Summer to Die, Looking Back, Autumn Street, and Find a Stranger, Say Goodbye. I would like to read these books because the descriptions sound a lot like a book I would not want to put down!!!

My goal is to read every book in her series before this school year is over. So far I have read 11 of 33. So I have 22 more books to go. I think I will finish the Gooney Bird series, and then work on the rest of the Stand alone books. Of course, some of the books I didn't like, but some of them I love!
