I think that Mesopotamians value Gods. They have many different gods for different reasons. One is the vegetation god. Mesopotamians show their respect by bringing fulfilling amounts of food. They worship them in ziggurats.

The mesopotamian's made homes of what was around them. The rich people were the only ones who used rocks and wood. The early houses were made of reeds. They were small round and had no windows.

I learned that religion was the center if Mesopotamian culture. They practiced polytheism, which is the belief in many gods. Every day the would leave the gods piles of food on top of their temples, called ziggurats, which they believed the gods used to descend to Earth.

I learned that Ancient Mesopotamia was one of the oldest civilizations. People started to settle in Ancient Mesopotamia in about 9000 B.C.

I liked studying the Mesopotamian's shelter. Country homes were made of mud bricks and had only one floor. City homes were made of mud bricks and had two floors. The first floor was for slaves and the second was for the family who owned the house.

For architecture, Mesopotanians built their houses out of clay that came from the river.

Here is the better version:

I learned that religion was the center of Mesopotamian culture. They practiced polytheism, which is the belief in many gods. Every day the people would leave the gods piles of food on top of their temples, called ziggurats, which they believed the gods used to descend to Earth.

Food-mesopotamia did not have a large variety of foods. They could eat the food they found. They had to hunt for meat like a wild bore or a duck.Veggies and fruit they ate were mostly melon, olives, grapes, dates, apples, and honey to sweeten their food. They also liked to have wine with their dinner.
We were interested in what food they ate , because of the very small variety they had.

What I have chosen is the Mesopotamia religion. The Mesopotamia religion is that they built temples to worship there gods in. The Mesopotamia people gave a whole lot of food to the god and left it in the temple for the gods to eat it and hopping that they would get something in return.

I learned that all the laws that were written on stone. Every city had its own laws and government. This was called a city-state, and each state was ruled by a king. One king was Hammurabi. They made 282 court decisions on black stone.

We learned about what they wore in Mesopotamia.
They wore animal skins, wool coats and they had to tie there hair in a knot so it would hang down there back. We also learned about there gods and how they were important. They had to bring up the food to the king to show respect. That is what we learned about there culture.

The culture universal I chose was government. In ancient Mesopotamia King Hammurabi set up the first written laws. He had 282 laws carved on 4 pillars of black stone so people would know the rules. There were punishments if the laws were broken.

Themes- Mesopotamians thought that their gods were very important. They would bring food to the temple for the gods. Agriculture was important to them because thats how they got their food. They couldn't just run down to hannaford to get dinner. Those are the two most important.

Mesopotamia had empires, in which the kings always built temples. If the king said you broke the law you were taken. The city-states each had their own army and were always fighting for land and power. The army would fight with sling shots and if they captured anybody they would take them as slaves.

Family and kin were very important to the Mesopotamians. Whenever a new family-member was born, they became the same class as their parents.
